Copenhagen Solutions Lab is collaborating with Google

The collaboration concerns the measurement of air pollution.

A new partnership with Google allows measurements of air pollution in Copenhagen street by street. The partnership supports the City Council’s focus on air quality in Copenhagen and creates new opportunities for emissions and particulate pollution initiatives.

Today, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency measures air pollution at three locations in Copenhagen. Google’s Street View cars will drive throughout the city with air metering equipment, thus giving new insight into the extent of local air pollution street by street. Google's measurements will complement current measurements of NOx and particles.

Copenhagen is the first city outside of the United States where Google is conducting this type of air pollution measurements. All air data will be made available to the City of Copenhagen and relevant knowledge institutions.

In Copenhagen Municipality, the partnership is rooted in Copenhagen Solutions Lab.
