Air quality

Air quality

Clean air is an investment in health and quality of life. That’s why we work with a clear goal: to create cleaner air using technology, data and partnerships that make a real difference for people’s health and the city’s sustainability.

Air quality in Copenhagen

Air quality in Copenhagen has already improved — but we can go even further, together. New technological opportunities and strong collaborations give us the tools to develop solutions that make the city healthier and more sustainable.

At CSL, we invite companies with groundbreaking ideas to join us in innovating, testing and scaling solutions that improve air quality.

Our approach to air quality

We take a data-driven and solution-oriented approach through:

  • Testing and deploying mobile and stationary air quality monitors
  • Collaborating with companies and research institutions
  • Mapping and analyzing sources and impacts of air pollution
  • Integrating data into urban planning and city policies

Why We Focus on Air Quality and Air Pollution

Current solutions are not enough if we want to keep the air clean in the future. Copenhagen aims to meet WHO air quality guidelines and reduce harmful exposure to its residents.

Air pollution in the city causes around 415 premature deaths every year, thousands of sick days, and costs society roughly DKK 7.6 billion annually.

That’s why we work with companies to develop and implement innovative solutions that can measure, predict and reduce air pollution. Together, we aim to create healthier urban spaces, using technology and data to protect people’s health and support sustainable city development.
